Over the past year the school store has undergone severe changes in styles, quality, and customization in their gear. Still, many students have little knowledge of the changes that have occurred.
Recently, the school store has made it possible to customize gear to the customers’ liking. Students and staff can now put logos and other decals wherever they choose on the piece of clothing they purchase.
“I purchased a shirt with the new patches and I love it. It is one of the shirts I wear the most,” said physical education teacher Kevin Briggs.
To spread the word about the store’s upgrades students said they believe that more marketing and making the store visually appealing would help.
“I believe advertising on the school announcements would help make the store more popular,” said junior Billy Clark.
Athletes around the school said they feel proud to be on their team and would like to show their school spirit by wearing the school’s sports apparel.
“I would definitely buy more clothing if they sold Wachusett soccer merchandise,” said senior Tyler George.
Students also believe an opportunity to make the school’s store more popular could be to incorporate deals during certain weeks of the school year.
“A discount for students who are participating in the theme during spirit week would create a lot of sales,” said George.
Others believed that more availability to purchase items would help.
“I feel like the store isn’t open enough for me to shop and eventually purchase clothes,” said senior Matt Bjorkman.
Staff feel that the store could generate more sales if they sold items that are popular with the student demographic.
“I think students would purchase many reusable water bottles like a Stanley or Yeti,” said assistant principal Jouse Delgado.

Even though some students love the upgrades, many students continue to be unaware of the improvements.
“I thought the store was selling the same clothes as last year,” said senior Cameron Mcgravy.
In addition to being unaware of the changes, students also are unaware that the store is in part student-led, with many of its interns helping the store get more improvements for the future.
In the future, the store plans on expanding their hours to include all lunch periods and after school events that go on in the school. They also plan on getting an online payment system to make it easier for parents to buy items.
